Help Out, Mr. Buckley!

If Michael Buckleyasked his readers if there is any fairy tale character or character from literature that you would really like to see appear in one of his books, who would you recommend? State the name of the character (one that you have not seen in his book yet) and then tell Mr. Buckley why you think this character would make his stories more interesting!
Many of you have read past the first book so if someone suggests a name of a character who DOES make an appearance in a later book, you have permission to tell them on this blog but do not tell them anything else about their role or what happened in the story. Characters you suggest should be from children's literature NOT just from movies! Strain your brain and add your FAVE on here!

Which Character Are YOU?

On this post, I would like to know what book you are reading in the series right now. Also, what character reminds you most of you? If you were that character for real, is there anything you would change in the story or change in the way your character acts? ( for example.. I am most like Puck but I think he should use better manners when he meets people.)

The Return of Puck

Since Puck seems to be pretty popular (197 comments) on the last post, I am making a new one. Make sure you use your manners on this post...and ask questions that Puck can answer..not just negative comments. I know he gets a big braggy now and then, but he is and always will be a trickster so you have to know he doesn't really mean most of what he says.

PUCK for President???

Puck beat out Granny Relda for your choice for president!! Are you kidding me? I sure would be interested in knowing what traits he has to lead our country. Fill me in if you voted for him. Why would he be such a good president?

Gob, Corking and Barmy!

Jack uses many words unfamiliar to the girls throughout the story. Check out pages 173, 175 and 181 to read them in context.
Explain what you think these three words mean by looking at how Jack uses them in a sentence. Add any other British words you might know from reading other books? (like Harry Potter)

Green Butter Wins!

Looks like Green butter won as the most disgusting food Granny Relda made for a meal! Black spaghetti and emerald meatballs tied for second place in our poll. Yummy!

Human or Everafter?

If you lived in FerryPort Landing, would you rather be a human or an Everafter with magical powers? Write threee sentences for this post. The first sentence telling which you would choose. The second sentence telling an advantage to being what you chose and sentence three, tell a disadvantage to being what you chose. For extra credit, you can cite (quote) examples in the book to support your choice. Have fun! You have one week to complete this!

Guilty or Not Guilty??

The Grimm sisters, along with Granny Relda, are "sleuths of fairy tale crimes". Think about all the fairy tales you have read in your young life and tell me what crimes have been committed in those tales. Name the character, the fairy tale and the crime! This should be fun...if someone has written one, you cannot repeat it! For instance, I think Goldilocks was guilty of breaking and entering the bears' house. You can't use that one since I just said it though! I look forward to reading what you bring to this week's blog!

Super Sentence!

We have all been reading the first book in class and so I want you to quote me a sentence you read from the book that you either liked or related to in some way. After you write the sentence, then tell us why you chose it...was it funny, does it remind you of you or someone else? Does it remind you of a memory you have?
